DocuGrab Word Search and View is a system tool that lets you view your DOC, DOCX, PDF and TXT files and find text inside them. The application will scan your folders on your main hard drive and index all the files that it finds. Then it will open those files and index the text in them. This allows the app to let you search for text strings inside those files quickly. There is a search field that you can use to search for any word. If the word is indexed, it will be displayed when you start typing its first few letters. A number in between parentheses will indicate how many instances of the word have been indexed.
There are other ways in which you can search for files or text inside them. The app is divided into four tabs. The first one, DocuGrab search, contains a search field and a list of all the files that have been indexed by the application. Then, in View Folders, you can browse each folder where files have been found by the application. View by Date, displays the modification dates of your files so that you can browse them that way. When you click on a date, you will see all the files modified on that day. Lastly, Scan Control is where the application settings are housed. Here, you can enable or disable filters for the scans and choose what file types you want to scan for. By default, all the formats are enabled, and the app will scan for documents made by all users on your computer.
